Herodotus.
Herodotus was born about 484 B. C. in Halicarnassus, (now Bodrum, Turkey). He is considered by his admirers as the “father of history” because he was the first historian to collect and systematically document events and made a conscious attempt to discover and explain past events. He major work is known as The Histories.
